Counseling & Psychotherapy For Adults

Self-awareness and self-understanding is the path to inner peace. The most important relationship of your lifetime is the relationship with yourself.

Counseling and psychotherapy offers a place to gain a different perspective when life can be overwhelming.

Stress, Anxiety, & Depression

Everyone deserves happiness…but anxiety gets in the way, filling your mind with endless worries. It will negatively affect your work and relationships, keeping you from enjoying your life. Together, you and I will work step-by-step to alleviate anxiety in the present, while clearing the roots at the same time. We don’t just manage symptoms: together we go after the cause.

Fighting Disorders

A disorder may create significant psychological and physiological impairment. Talking with a therapist or counselor can help you deal with thoughts, behaviors, symptoms, stresses, goals, past experiences and other areas that can promote your recovery.  I am here to help!

Frequently Asked Questions

If I go to therapy there must be something wrong with me; I should be able to handle this/figure it out on my own, right?

“Making the decision to seek out therapy isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a wise act of self-care to reach out for support from professionals when there’s a challenge you need help with. You’d reach out to a doctor for help setting your broken bone or to a lawyer if you needed help filing divorce paperwork, wouldn’t you? When it comes to your mental and emotional health it’s no different. Reaching out for professional support is an act of self-care to address the challenges you’re facing.”

Is what I share confidential?

“Absolutely. What you share with us in our sessions is completely confidential except in the case of 1) immediate threat of harm to self or other, 2) suspicion of child or dependent elder abuse, 3) in the case of a court subpoena. I will discuss all of this and my other office policies during your initial consultation.”

How often should I come in? Once a week? Every other week?

“You can come in weekly or every other week: whatever you are most comfortable with. That being said, it is highly recommended that you come in weekly and stick to a schedule with me as you and I work together, but I always accomodate my clients to make things as convenient and comfortable for them as possible.”

What can I expect from our first session together?

“Our first in-person meeting is a consultation. It’s different from a traditional therapy session because this will be a time for us to gather your case history, and together we’ll talk about why you have decided to pursue therapy and what your goals are for our time together. It’s also an opportunity for you to get to know the process, to ask any questions you may have, and to see how you feel in the office throughout the session. At the end of the session, we can decide together if it feels right to move forward in scheduling another session and beginning the rest of your therapeutic journey. Please note that this first session is not complimentary; it is a fully paid session. If you have questions or concerns before your first session, please get in contact with me ahead of time.
